Selecting the Best Future Mooting Stars

Glimpses from the grand mooting event held at IMSA Law College Hyderabad showcasing the budding legal minds in action.

The selection of Officer Bearers for the IMSA Law College Mooting Society for the academic year 2025 marked a significant step forward in empowering the next generation of student leaders and legal advocates. This year’s selection process was conducted with the utmost integrity, inclusiveness, and transparency, ensuring that the most deserving, dedicated, and capable individuals were chosen to represent and lead the society through a promising new chapter.

The interview process was rigorous and multi-phased, designed not only to evaluate academic excellence but also to gauge students’ practical knowledge of law, analytical thinking, public speaking capabilities, and team leadership skills. Applicants from various semesters applied to be a part of the executive team, driven by a shared vision to elevate the Mooting Society's standing both within and outside the institution.

The selection panel included some of the most esteemed and experienced members of our faculty:

  • Arbab Azhar Hassan Advocate – Principal, IMSA Law College
  • Riyasat Ali Advocate – Senior Faculty Member and Leading Moot Coach
  • Ms. Hena Parmar – Faculty Member and Coordinator to the Mooting Coach

Each panelist brought with them years of academic insight, courtroom experience, and mentorship expertise, contributing to a fair and well-balanced evaluation. Candidates were assessed on their knowledge of constitutional law, criminal and civil procedures, and their ability to construct and defend legal arguments on their feet. The panel was particularly attentive to candidates’ moral character, passion for justice, teamwork capabilities, and eagerness to promote the legal profession in a responsible and inclusive manner.

The atmosphere during the interviews was both intellectually stimulating and professionally engaging. Applicants were encouraged to express their ideas freely, challenge hypothetical legal scenarios, and present their views on pressing legal and social issues. This allowed the panel to understand not just their legal aptitude but also their ability to think critically under pressure—an essential skill in the mooting arena.

The IMSA Mooting Society has long stood as a beacon for student excellence in advocacy and oratory, and the newly selected Officer Bearers are expected to uphold and further this legacy. Their roles will encompass organizing internal mooting sessions, leading training workshops, participating in national and international competitions, and representing IMSA Law College on prestigious platforms.

We are deeply grateful to the panel members who devoted their time and energy to ensure that this selection process was a success. Their mentorship and commitment to academic excellence continue to shape the culture and vision of our institution.

Congratulations to all the newly appointed Officer Bearers. We look forward to your leadership, your contributions to the society, and the mark you will leave on the legal fraternity during your tenure. The IMSA Mooting Society remains committed to supporting your journey and achievements.
